Dr. McKamey is now "CERTIFIED" in Flexion Distraction............................ The Cox Flexion Distraction Technique (also referred to as the Cox® Technic) was developed by Dr. James M. Cox as a gentle, non-force adjustment procedure to help the spine heal naturally. It is based on principles of both chiropractic and osteopathy, a combination that often provides fast relief from low back and leg pain, without the need for surgery. The goal of Flexion Distraction is to decompress the vertebrae by applying gentle stretching or traction to the spine. The Cox Flexion Distraction technique is performed on a special table (designed by Dr. Cox), which has moving parts to effectively separate the different parts of the spine. The table has movable sections to separately support the head and legs, allowing the patient to flex in many directions and thus extend the spine. The combination of this special adjustment table and very gentle pressure utilizes flexion-distraction and decompression to increase the disc height between vertebrae, decompressing the spinal column and restoring the spinal joints to their proper alignment and range of motion. The chiropractor can adjust the different sections of the table to neutralize the effects of gravity and then apply gentle pressure to the affected areas as they move through a more normal range of motion. Movements are repetitive and usually slow, without any quick thrusts or undue pressure.
Dr. Cox, has insisted for nearly 50 years on research and documenting the science of this non-surgical approach to back pain relief and alternative to back surgery, in the hands of well-trained back specialists. Evidence-based Protocols are tested in laboratory trials and clinical trials supported by privately funded, clinician-volunteer, and Federally Funded Research grants through the United States National Institutes for Health (NIH) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to name a few. Their objectives are to document the actual effect Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction and Decompression, has on the spine and its nerves to relieve pain, (drops pressure) as well as the amount of time in days, (29 average) and visits, (12 average) it takes to relieve pain.
The technique has been found to: reduce intradiscal pressure, widen the spinal canal, improve range of motion in spinal joints as well as the arms, legs, and shoulders, improve posture, reduce pressure on spinal nerves, increase circulation and improve nerve communication.
Patients seeking relief of their lower back pain and neck pain can rest easy knowing that Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction Protocols are safe, gentle, and well-documented to help them.
Dr. Kevin L. McKamey has completed the lecture, case review and hands on portions of Parts I and II of the Cox Certification Program. This advanced training was provided by Dr. James M. Cox himself and his staff of highly capable instructors and accredited through National University of Health Sciences in Lombard (Chicago), Illinois. Dr. McKamey has passed the written and practical portions of the Cox training and is “CERTIFIED” in flexion distraction protocols for the cervical and lumbar spine.
Benefits of Certification include physician confidence in caring for the severe and routine neck and low back patients.
Inclusion in the Cox® Technic on-line Referral Directory

Introducing the only Class IV therapeutic LASER on the Lower Shore LCT 1000 by Lite Cure Healing at the speed of light....................
Soft Tissue Laser Therapy is an FDA cleared modality that reduces inflammation, promotes healing and ultimately results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions and post-op pain.
The LiteCure LCT-1000 works by flooding the tissue with light photons of a specific wavelength, which research shows to energize cells resulting in increased circulation to the injured area.
Laser therapy treatment is safe, painless and fast. Deep Tissue Laser Therapy treatments are administered in 5 to 10 minutes with most patients seeing results within 3 to 5 treatments.
Deep Tissue Laser Therapy utilizes your body’s own recuperative abilities by stimulating increased cellular activity, inducing a series of healing responses in the injured tissues. During treatment you will feel a soothing warmth that identifies the beginning of an 18-24 hour process of modulated cellular activity leading to decreased pain and inflammation and increased range of motion.
Despite fast treatment times, laser therapy treatments initiate a healing process that continues to actively reduce the inflammatory process for up 24 hours post treatment.
LiteCure Medical is the preferred brand of professional athletic trainers and is a clinically proven modality. LiteCure Medical is the leader in scientific research and education.
LiteCure Medical lasers are cleared by the FDA and adhere to strict ISO standards in order to provide you with the safest non-invasive treatment option on the market. Laser therapy provides you with a safe and effective alternative to drugs and surgery.

The Graston Technique®, originally developed by athletes, is changing the way clinicians - including athletic trainers, chiropractors, physical therapists, occupational therapists - and patients view treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Graston Technique® offers many advantages and benefits.

|"The Graston Technique® Instruments allow a deeper, more sensitive palpation and treatment of fibrotic restricted tissue."
-Warren I. Hammer, MS, DC, DABCO
Six stainless steel instruments form the cornerstone of Graston Technique®
The curvilinear edge of the patented Graston Technique® Instruments combines with their concave/convex shapes to mold the instruments to various contours of the body. This design allows for ease of treatment, minimal stress to the clinician's hands, and maximum tissue penetration.
The Graston Technique® Instruments, much like a tuning fork, resonate in the clinician's hands allowing the clinician to isolate adhesions and restrictions, and treat them very precisely. Since the metal surface of the instruments does not compress as do the fat pads of the finger, deeper restrictions can be accessed and treated. When explaining the properties of the instruments, we often use the analogy of a stethoscope. Just as a stethoscope amplifies what the human ear can hear, so do the instruments increase significantly what the human hands can feel.
